Dr. Tylka first became interested in TMJ problems while still in dental school. His interest continued through his prosthodontic speacialty training inspiring him to continue his education and training in the areas of Temporomandibular Disorders & Facial Pain, and eventually Sleep Medicine and Dental Sleep Medicine.
Since completing his formal education Dr. Tylka has always maintained a practice largely devoted to the diagnosis and care of patients suffering from the often-confusing signs and symptoms that can present as a TMJ problem, but which must be differentiated from the extensive list of serious conditions that can mimic certain TM Disorders.
Over his career Dr. Tylka has treated patients under a variety of clinical environments, including not only university-based clinics, but also in private practice, as sol-proprietor, as well as group practice.
Dr. Tylka welcome requests to present to local dental organization and study clubs.
Dr. Tylka has long presented Nationally and Internationally, at Regional as well as to local dental groups and study clubs, chiefly on the topics of Temporomandibular Disorders and Facial Pain, dating back to the 1990s. More recently, after having completed a residency in Dental Sleep Medicine at UCLA, and becoming the first-ever Director of Sleep Medicine at an American dental school, Dr. Tylka has been asked to speak on the topics of Sleep Medicine and Dental Sleep Medicine to both dental, as well as medical groups. He enjoys speaking to groups of all sizes and welcomes the opportunity to speak to your group.
